Hm, hm... I don't know about the park (but thanks for the idea! ) ...where is the star of David? I can't see any.

Gate of the Government (including military) area would be clearly labelled.
Could be a private property.
Still, looks like a public park or cemetery to me...

There is a symbol on one of the gate posts. I can't tell what the top part of it is, but bottom looked to me like a six-pointed star.

I believe that is just an ornament, not a symbol.

As I already mentioned, the place reminded me of the Rudolf's barracks in Zagreb (the part barely seen here, in the distance, on the far right), or something similar.

I have one more: not barracks this time, but an old fortification, should be in the Pelješac area (it could be also Brač etc). Any thoughts? I've asked some people in the (nearby) Hvar area, but they weren't able to ID it (unfortunately, I don't know anyone from Pelješac).

...and this one was probably taken in Croatia, but not 100% sure (April 1941, somewhere along the line Celje - Zagreb - Karlovac - Bihać; it reminds me of the Rudolf's Barracks in Zagreb); also, it is possible that the fence/building in the background does not belong to a military facility at all, that is only my assumption

I've just found another photo taken on the same street, a couple of metres away from the first shot (the now-visible fence wall is definitely different than the one in front of the Rudolf's Barracks, and from the ones in front of the cemeteries suggested by Greg).

Any ideas now?
