I seek more information from any WWII expert on Gen.Mihail (Leu) Romanescu
who was during WWII commander of ARR 1st Fighter Fleet and 7th Fighter Group.
There is little information and photos on this interesting General and pilot.

On which front was he dispatched in WWII ? are there any photos from the
front ? I didn't see him much on any of the " Adler " Romania magazines .

Are there any post WWII photos of him and is it true that he was executed
in 1952 at Jilava prison allegedly due to contacts to US and British mission
in Bucharest ? where is he buried ?

Thanks

According to the list of the Victims of the Communist Regime, he was, indeed executet at Jilava Prison.

At that time, alot of convicts, especially 'politics', have been executed and burried into the prison cemetery, some times even in common graves, alongside with others. Gen. Av. Mihai Romanescu might have the same faith.
In the 'memento' of his name is noted:
Jilava'
He was arrested for trying to install an illegal Radio Station, in liaison with british-american agents, in 1950. Him and other three was sentenced to death, while four others from his 'lot' have received between 12 and 25 years of forced labour, was executed at 8 feb. 1952, at Jilava Prison.
An article about 'Deutsch-Koniglich Rumanischen Jagdverband', i've found, in Romanian, here
