Perhaps this thread should be joined with the one on 1939-1941 generals, but I will leave it to the Staff.

I am looking for the exact dates but less will do :D of birth/death of the following generals:

General de Brigada Ioan G. Aramă, born 1890
General de Brigade Dumitru P. Antonescu
General de Divizie Dumitru D. Bălşanu
General de Brigada Corneliu Balente

Hi,

Among the many generals retired on the 9th August 1947 there was according the Monitorul Oficial al României a General de Divizie Vasile Fodor. Does anyone have any info on him? In the MO I found that he was promoted Colonel on 11th November 1941 (Dated back to 31st October 1941), Locotenent-Colonel 31st March 1938, with seniority changed back to 1st October 1937 on 16th April 1941. The MO also list a Colonel Vasile Fodor being placed at disposal on 9th August 1946. So one of the ranks in 1946 or 1947 is most likely an error, as I doubt him being promoted from Colonel to General de Divizie within a year while at disposal. There could be two officers by that name, but I doubt it.

Any information would be appreciated.
Kind Regards

Hi Valdis,

Thank you - at least this is two less!

Btw. Dimitriu's seniority date for General de Brigada was changed from 17th Jan 1943 to 31st Jan. 1942 at one point, and not as written.

How can we have left out one of the most important Romanian General : NICOLAE RADESCU ? Born 1874 and died 1953 in New York.
General Nicolae Radescu was very important figure in Romania being also a Prime Minister 1944 to 1945. He has had a very strange relationship with Marchal Ion Antonescu and not always agreed..and Antonescu had him inprisoned despite the good relations between Radescu and King Michael.
After Antonescu was executed by Communists , General Radescu was released when along with his wife Gizela Ettinger sought refuge and end up in USA,where he formed along with other Romanian Anticommunists activists an Opposition Movement against Petru Groza regim put on power by Soviets.
General Radescu Died in Exile In USA in 1953 as a great political personality who fought against Communism and above all He loved his country.

I am searching for a Romanian general named Nicolae I. Mandea (or Manda). But I am not sure if he bwas promoted to general before or after 1944/45. He should have been borne between 1892 and 1895.

Could anybody provide detailed informations about him?

Thanks in advance

Christian
