OK, this is my translation of Croatian translation of an article in news-paper Hrvatska on this shooting:
"Buenos Aires, 10.4.1957 (HIS). - On 16th anniversary of establishment of NDH (Nezavisna Država Hrvatska - Independent state of Croatia), on 10. April 1957 was commited assasination on "Obnovitelja i Poglavnika" (Rebuilder and Leader - my translation) of NDH Doctor Ante Pavelić, at 21.10 pm in Lomas del Palomar, suburb of Argentinian capitol, near his home. Assasin, who wasn't identifed, shot 6 times onto Poglavnik and was hit twice. Poglavnik, wounded in chest and back, made it to his home on itself, where was given a first-aid by Argentinian doctor. Family called Croatian doctor and surgen dr. Milivoj Marušić, which examed Poglavnik and ordered moving to Sirian-Libanon hospital, where they done some X-ray. Medical community, also Dr. Marušić, agreed that there should be done a surgery to extract bullets from the body of Poglavnik. In early hours of morning Poglavnik had left the hospital in care/protection of friends to give a statement to Federal Argentinian Police of 47. district and was then moved to his home in Lomas del Palomar. Thanks to Precaution (like Hitler  - this are my words), life of Poglavnik is not in danger."
He was hit by bullets from Revolver .32 cal. In the book is not mentioned anything on Tito's assasin., but from my experiance this is highly like a work of communist assasin.

He was hit in "u višini drugog kralješka a šesti kraj desne ključne kosti". OK I know that that means in right collar-bone, what about first wound. Second vertebra from which vertebra group? Maybe major can help with this.

Regards,
Kocjo

BTW. Any other requests? :)

Thanks Kocjo for yr amswers .

So if I am right the shooter was not caught and his identity is unknown .

If so surely was the work of Tito's agent , an individual would have publicized his action of revenge .

I think it is the second vertebra from pelvis, (kraljesnica=pelvis)
This kind of assasination was not uncommon in the years after the war. Yugoslav agents executed members of the active emigration and former ustasha and chetnik forces that escaped after communists came to power.

Hi everybody, (and Za Dom Spremni ! ...for the ones in the know)

Pretty interesting topic,i just step in..... here in Honduras where i live,i have a croatian friend, owner of a restaurant (the only place in Central America where i can get a gulash,my dear Kocjo.) ... his dad ,executed by the titists in 1945,was a personal friend of Ante Pavelic (and his brother was in the Handschar, even being a catholic, killed too in 1945),so i gone ask him about all that .....
too sad he is in another city, 400 kms from where i am....
Pavelic wasn't the only axis leader to escape without to be caught.Rumanian Horia Sima too (escaped thanks to Eichmann) who died in Spain few years ago.... besides i remember Szalazi died in Spain in 1973.

Ostuf Charlemagne -- You said: "besides i remember Szalazi died in Spain in 1973."

If you're talking about this Szalasi, he died a little earlier:

Szalasi, Ferenc (1897-12.3.1946) – Hungarian founder of the Arrow Cross Party (Nyilakeresztes Párt) 1937; Hungarian head of State 1944-1945 {Hungarian government announced impending trial 5 Oct 1945 (NYT 6 Oct 1945:7:1; NYT 11 Dec 1945:5:5); put on trial by a Hungarian court for war crimes and crimes against the people; convicted and sentenced to death 8 Dec 1945 (NYT 10 Dec 1945:3:4; LT 11 Dec 1945:3d); put on trial by the Hungarian People's Court at Budapest; again convicted and sentenced to death 1 Mar 1946 (NYT 2 Mar 1946:6:5); hanged at Budapest 12 Mar 1946 (NYT 13 Mar 1946:13:4; LT 13 Mar 1946:3d; Encyclopedia of the Third Reich p. 942).}

Yes, of course you're right. :)

I was saying, that "Za dom spremni" was used by Croatian troops during WWII and 90's war - usually fought against Serbs.

Tut tut Randy   Even though I was an Ustasa in '91/'92 I wouldn't greet a Serb with Za dom spremni.

However, if I was feeling cheeky I might just say esselaamu alejkum (Bosnian transliteration) or mirmdita (explain Korbius)

Pomoz Bog junace, Major (bre :) )

Vozdra!

This exchange of Croatian nationalistic sentiment is off-topic, and because it is stridently nationalistic, it's inappropriate. This thread has an interesting subject -- please stay on it.
