Time to get your Afrikakorps and 8th Army gear ready... It is almost time for SA's premier living history and re-enactment event!

Over the years our Operation Barbarossa re-enactment event has become famous among SA re-enactors, military historians and other enthusiasts (see viewtopic.php?f=40&t=172794). This year we will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of the 2nd Battle of El Alamein, the turning point in the North African campaign - a battle in which South African forces were heavily involved.

On 20 October 2012 Montgomery' Allied 8th Army and Rommel's German and Italian Afrikakorps will do battle all over again, but this time not in the North African desert, but on the Free State veld, just outside Bloemfontein!

This year we plan the biggest event in SA to date, so keep this date open and join us for a memorable weekend. Please also forward the attached leaflet to all your military history/hobby buddies.

The KDF Wagen got an "african spa" treatment this weekend, complete with DAK insignia and mud bath! I will be using it in the next two months to advertise our event in Bloemfontein. You must see the heads turn when you drive down the road in this machine...

Of course the kids think it is the coolest toy ever and were very willing to assist with the mud smearing part!
