Regular Army (Heer). Couldn't tell you what unit, but the patch on his lower sleeve is that of a Sturmboot Pionere (assault boat crewman). The item on his upper sleeve is a Cholm Shield, awarded for honorable participation in the Battle of Cholm in 1942.
