WW1 Reenacting?

#1

Post by jtemple507 » 20 Sep 2013, 18:17

I know there's tons of WW2 reenacting stuff here, but I'm just curious, is there anyone here that's into WW1 reenacting? I'd like more information on this subject. Is it more costly than WW2 reenacting, what battles are like, various units (in the US only please) and their locations, etc.

Hello.

I don't know of that many WW1 events hosted around the country, I do know the Great War Association has their location in Newville, PA which is a huge field where they have constructed a vast amount of trenches, I think they do their WW1 thing a few times a year there complete with WW1 aircraft etc. That said I only do WW2 reenacting but have had members of my unit attend events at the Newville site which they say is amazing. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can chip in, but maybe this will help some.

I do some WWI stuff. There aren't too many events though. Newville has two events a year and is an awesome site. Rockford had it's first WWI event last spring and there is an event out in Parsons, KS. I know they also do some stuff out in Cali, but that's way too far for me to go.

Here is my unit's website: http://www.5throhr-kbilr.com/ I do KBILR.

Rockford is closest to me. When exactly is the event there? Is it the same location as the WWII battle site?

It was in mid April last year. It's in the same place as the WWII event.
