Reichsbahn 1935-1941
Reichsbahn (German State Railways) 1935-1941
Reenactment within Germany is not without its problems, but I have found a personal solution.
Working for the German Railways, I discovered that the railway uniform up until summer 1941
carried only one swastika, worn on the peaked cap, this can easily covered up (with a rank pip).
This allows me to move about freely on the German rail network, to and from a railway museum
which just so happens to own a saloon car from Hitlers private train! Although I am wearing a
Third Reich Railway uniform, rail passengers still ask me for travel directions!
Standing next to Hitlers Saloon car
One of our 40 or so locomotives
A Wehrmacht Diesel from 1943
As the diesel would have looked in 1943
One of our many wartime wagons
Cheers, Bill.

Thanks Drew, I just wanted to do something different that is not seen at events.

Indeed, that is a great impression Bill. Especially when it's compared to the original which I found in my collection.
Cheers,
Max
