I attended D-Day Conneaut Ohio this weekend and would like to share some pictures. D-Day Conneaut is the largest D-Day re-enactment in North America. There were about 1,100 re-enactors’ partaking, and about 20,000 spectators at the event to witness it. Four P-51 Mustangs and a B-25 bomber gave "air support" for the amphibious force brought over aboard several am tracks and Higgins boats. A Sherman tank gave ground support against several German 'block houses" an 88 and a Panzer 1. On top of that there were Allied and Axis camps to visit, and a great re-enactment of the seizing of the La Fiere bridge.
Camera died before D-Day engagement, but got some good pics of the fight on the bridge. This is an annual event, so if anyone is in the Northeast Ohio area next year, it is worth your time!!
