Reichswehr tunic

#1

Post by Angus1235 » 22 Sep 2015, 11:08

I have nearly completed a Reichswehr tunic shell (Lining is yet to be made and waiting on fabric for green collar) and I was wondering about the colour. I am aware of what Feldgrau looks like, but my first attempt to dye the wool resulted in a very swedish-wool appearance (grey with a green tinge). Because I rather like this appearance, I thought I'd check to see if any examples of a M27 style tunic ever existed in steingrau before I buy more dye for it. My understanding is that it would match the steingrau hosen of the period, so this colour may not be too far outside of reality.

I would love to see any images of Reichswehr tunics up close, whether feldgrau or steingrau as it may help a lot with the one I am making.

Cheers.
