I'm looking to get an M42 or M43 tunic not for re-enacting but as reference for some 3D character work (computer graphics).
I've been looking at Hessen because they are inexpensive. I'm not concerned about buying a Chinese made one.
I'm 5'9" with a 42" inch chest measurement, but if I wore a sweater underneath I'm thinking a 44" maybe better.
Has anybody with a similar build bought a tunic from Hessen and if so, what size worked out for you?

Re: Hessen tunic sizing
A little late and not much help, but I purchased a Hessen (not Sturm) tunic recently. I wear a 36 jacket but the smallest available was 38. I can comfortable wear a sweater underneath. The midsection has more girth than I feel is proper but it will still fit if I gain weight.
Sturm & Hikishop tunics are also lower priced.
