I have some of the inside, Hitlers unused office, conference room etc...
Inside the entrance is very Berghof....vaulted angled stone ceilings
I was inside when I was with a good friend of Frau Scharfenberg who rented many of the rooms...as then completely un touched.

Im sure I posted the once before, but can again.

Hi Robert,
certainly! post it again please. Btw, do you have a shoots from the bunker below the second Reichskanzlei? Have you been inside? May be you can set up a new one thread Berchtesgaden-Stanggass or something. Would be great whether someone else visited Jodl/Keitel houses too.

Hello again Cor, it will be no problem to take images outside the building, or around it.
You do know i do have images from the Kanzlei in my Panoramio account.
All i was saying earlier, use a bit of common sense, since there are people living there now, who have nothing to do with the past.

Geoff is right with his comment as well, it all depends on who you meet at the site.

robertmountfor, thanks for your comment.
I do hope you will post those images you spoke of earlier in the thread, it does sound very promising.
Thanks for your effort in advance.

Hello NL, ofcourse I know of your nice photos on your panoramiosite. I know that several people have taken photos earlier at that place, but i wanted to know if it was difficult, because as you say i dont want to bother other people because i want to take a picture.

and robertmountfor, i also looking forward to your images of the inside.

Firstly, new member here, but this is the first thread i came across, purely out of interest and searching for more info on the Obersalzberg. I have a huge interest in all things World War II and specifically regarding Germany. My grandfather was in the Kriegsmarine, his brother the Afrika Korps and my great uncle on my grandmother's side was in the Waffen SS and died on the eastern front.... Anyways, i was at the Obersalzerg back when i was a kid in the 80s i think, probably my early teens, but don't remember it unfortunately.
Would like to say also to Geoff Walden, what a great site you have, thirdreichinruins.com.... Totally awesome site and great pictures!! What a treat it must have been to hear all the stories from your father who was actually there!!
So, with that being said, can anyone recommend a good book on the Oberlsalzberg? I know we have one that we bought when we were there, more of one of those tourist booklets, but i am looking for something that has the history of Berchtesgaden and the Obersalzberg area before the Sperrgebiet and the regime took over, as well as after the war... Lots of pictures of course is a plus!!! Thanks in advance for you opinions. i know there are a bunch of books out there, and i found most of them on such sites as abebooks.com and alibris.com as well as some others. They don't have to be new or anything.... i like old books that were printed shortly after that period or even ones that were printed during the war... I also speak German, so language is not an issue of course... I even prefer original German books....
Also, to Johnnyrocket and Stevequinton, if you guys wouldn't mind emailing the posters from the Berghof and the large floor plan to me, that would be great!! i know it has been a while since this post was last replied to, but i just found it!!
Alright, i hope to come across a lot of good stuff on this site and appreciate your responses!! Thanks!!

The caption on the back says against the wreckage of Hitler's retreat so I guess it at the Berghof

But then again this one of the SS-kaserne also refers to viewing Hitler's retreat, so maybe that expression realy means only the general area.

Looks like the platterhof garages to me. I looked at the other photos on that site and the berghof photo is confusing me. If you look to the right you see a building but that building should not exist and it cant be the guard house because that is further down around the corner. I think the negative has been tampered with or mixed up some how, also it cant be the obersalzberg admin officers house because it is directly to the right. How strange eh.

If you mean the building indicated then it is the guard house.

I think you are right.
The photo captions seem to be not very specific.

Still think, that muller1945 mentioned this building.
