For Sale - Camouflage Netting

Postby Geoff Walden » 18 Jan 2017 02:50

There is a large piece of more-or-less intact OSB camouflage netting on ebay.de right now:
http://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from=R40 ... 7&_sacat=0

This appears to be a good section ... maybe a little dirty, but better than probably anything that can be found there now. The seller found it in the ruins of the SS-Kaserne basements in 2003. This is a great OSB souvenir! (I won't be bidding ... I already have a couple big pieces that I found myself.) :milwink:

Hope someone here on AHF gets this!

Geoff

Picked this up from ebay yesterday — does anyone recognize the location? It was advertised as "Haus Wachenfeld" but I'm not so sure...

Certainly looks like there was plenty of traffic there.
I would not prefer to be there at that time.

I like the place to myself to wonder around and feel the ethos.

Nice photos...thanks

I've posted this photo before and we couldn't identify where it was on the mountain. For what it's worth I found the original and written on the back in my handwriting is "Berghof retaining wall". Doesn't help much as I still can't place it unless souvenir hunters have carted away the stone work. It's not as silly a scenario as some might imagine: when I was there in 1976, having climbed through the "Danger! Keep out! Lebensgefahr!" fence, I was exploring when a car pulled up and a young couple got out, climbed the fence, spent half an hour digging out a block of stone, lifted the stone into the car and drove off.

Stop press! While looking for a photo of my motorbike I came across this photo. I suspect that I labeled the above photo "Berghof retaining wall" when I got home from Europe without realising that it was in fact something else. I now believe it is probably part of this platform which used to exist behind the ruins/foundations of the Goring house.
We can all sleep better tonight.
