I never reached THAT level :)

The windows are hopelessly distorted, but the portal cleans up real nice!

Here's something i've been working on in my spare time - the Actor House is just a rough, and the main buildings have involved alot of guesswork. Does anyone have any further details of these buildings or a higher res version of that watercolour facade? Also, does anyone know what it says on the front of the Actor House up there in text?

First thing: What exactly for a house? For Linz you mean (looks good).

But you know, its hard to find out what color for the building was planed.

I used this as colour/material reference:

Image

Where the annotation is:

Linzer Achse/ Westansicht Prachtstraße "In den Lauben" mit Schauspielhaus/ Architekt Hermann Giesler, 1944
Axle of Linz / Westview splendor road "In den Lauben" with actorhouse / Architect Hermann Giesler, 1944

That's what I got actorhouse from. It may be one of those things that doesn't translate well though.

Nice Modells!

But i think there are not "Clay bricks" (Ziegelsteine), they are to cheap for this kind of buildings at this time.
I think there are "Muschelkalksteinplatten" like in the New Reichschanncellery, the Reichsluftfahrtministary or the Tempelhofer Airport.
You know what i mean?

Edit: Maybe like this building Image

Duke, i want to ask you if you could model the west-part of the Führerschloß (the New-New-Reichs-Chancellery), exactly the entrance-hall. I give you, if you want to do this, the groundplan. ^^

Sure - i'll do it when I next have some spare time. Send over the groundplan and any other reference you think is important via private message or dukecg@gmail.com :)

Great, Duke! :)

Well, i mean not the fassad of the entrance hall from the New-New-Reichskanzlei, instead the inside of it. I wonder how it would look like! It seams to be a large corridor with 2 column on every site every 2 meters. The entrance hall is a part of the 500 meters diplomat-way. Even in the "old" Reichs-Chancellery was such a way. Don't know exactly at the momet, it was 250 meters long i think.

Because im not an architect, i just can read the ground-plan to 30 %, sure not more.

Here are some pictures. The most importantly is the ground-plan (Grundriß).

Here we go: :)

If you not yet know this video, watch it: There you can see the "Portikus" of the entrance hall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8I7CVU_VxY

Wow I haven't seen alot of those pictures in that video - thanks. I started modeling it last night, I think i'll just have to guess how high the ceiling is. It would be great if anyone knew the source of the picture at 5:47

edit: The picture shown at 5:47 seems to be precisely the area i'm modelling. The second part of the 500m hall, and on the right there is the connecting Palace.

Hello Duke,

wonderful! :D

The picture you mean is the entrance-hall (Aula or Foyer) of the New-Townhall. For the New-New-Reichschancellery there's just a groundplan. :( But i think its a corridor with large colums on every site - i have to become an architect. =)

Here's the picture of the Foyer of the planed great big New-Townhall:
