Haus Schluchsee

If I got it right, this villa belonged to Martin Bormann. His wife and children lived there. Any period photo, info about Bormanns stay there?

There is some interesting text on this subject to be found by Googling "Haus Schluchsee, Martin Bormann's house," though the one picture provided is from the 1960s and is a drawing, not a photo. Apparently Gerda Bormann owned this Black Forest lakeside property for just two years -- 1943-45 -- she probably wanted to spend as much time with her children as possible, safely away from Berlin, when the Allies were bombing night and day. Her husband, of course, would have wanted to be at Hitler's side more than ever in those last years, when the war had turned against him.

Thanks for asking this question; I had not known of this Bormann property until now!
