General Walker Hotel

Geoff is probably best placed to answer this: who was the General Walker Hotel named after? I'm wondering if it was General Edwin Walker at whom Lee Harvey Oswald took a potshot. Seems unlikely given General Edwin Walker's career subsequent to his resignation.

Thanks, Max. I suspected Edwin was an unlikely choice.

In the 1970's the General Walker was a very old fashioned but quaint hotel. Very formal.
