Yes, when you visit the OSB, I would like some photos inside the Berghof-Stollen (Bauteil C), and also inside the Vordereck-Stollen.
Berghof and Göring-Bunker are still on my todo list.

Here are some stills from a video I took back in 2006 inside the Vordereck and Bormann bunkers. Sorry for the low quality.

Yes, please.

I know this is unusual but one of the Café Spiesberger next to the cemetery on Maxmillianstr.
Here you go, Annelie:

Just got back from a day trip to the OSB in gorgeous weather. Nothing new to report, not many people around anymore despite the unusually good weather.
The SS Munitionsstollen seems to have seen some recent visitors, judging from the fresh tracks at the entrance...

Slightly OT, but interesting nevertheless from an architectural point of view: Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler`s house Schneewinkellehen at Schönau, close to the Königssee:

I was at the Berghof and Mooslahnerkopf on Thursday (5.11.2015) but did not dig up any SS munitions. I mentioned to Geoff that there was evidence of someone digging in the area.

I noticed that, too. Lots of little diggings all over Bodnerbichl. Maybe someone searching the area with a metal detector?

I'm curious, do you think Hitler learned of the bombing of his house?

Do you think that in any way dissuaded him from leaving the bunker to go there?

thanksd

The digging that exposes foundation stones and other architectural pieces is the work of Henk Klaasen, who has been on this forum before. Henk has been improving the Berghof site for several years (and also the Mooslahnerkopf after the removal of the Teehaus ruins). Did you see a white caravan parked in the Berghof driveway? That is Henk's (he was there when I was there on 24 October).

BUT there have also been relic hunters with metal detectors at the Berghof site. Although I don't know what anyone would hope to find up on the Bodnerbichl ... bomb shrapnel, possibly. I guess one never knows.

Gary, that reminded me. The authorities DID find SS munitions on the OSB recently. I can't find the article with the story now, but it seems it was in the past couple of years. Workmen were cleaning out a storm drain near the former Platterhof site, and found a shaft with grenades and small arms cartridges at the bottom. Come to think of it, these could also have been American. I don't recall that the report said, one way or another.

Hi headwest,

Yes, Hitler was fully informed of the bombing and the state of the Berghof afterwards. But reportedly he had already decided to stay in Berlin, by that time.

I should let Robert answer this ... :milwink: But ... It was a house that Himmler maintained for his mistress Hedwig Potthast - https://www.google.com/maps/place/47%C2 ... !1s0x0:0x0

I do remember your post about the munitions, Geoff. I'm pretty sure the article said they were German but then again I can't remember how to get home most days.
