Thanks Reichpilot!
Hi Helly! The large building is the Fuhrer building, and one of the Honor Temples is right along side it. Just to the rear of the Honor Temple is a large house. I was wondering if that may have been the Braun Haus. I'll look at Goeff's site for a possible view. I thought it was right around the corner from there. I do know the Braun Haus is not there anymore. I'm looking forward to seeing the next batch!
Don
Hello all,
Great photos, Helly, as usual! Do you know the identity of the building in a and b? I don't recognize it.
@ Don - you're right - that's the Braune Haus back in the rear there.
c is the Verwaltungsbau in Munich (still there today).
d and e show the Reichs Luftartsministerium (Air Ministry) on Wilhelmstrasse in Berlin (still there today, minus the eagles).
h is the Haus der Deutsche Erziehung (House of German Education) in Bayreuth - still there today, but somewhat modified by the E.ON company.
i is the Dietrich-Eckart-Buehne at the Reichssportfeld in Berlin (still there).
j is, I believe, the Ordensburg Vogelsang (still there).
K is the Ordensburg Sonthofen (still there).
Regards,
Geoff
I'm not an expert in architecture but the roof and the walls just don't match and that building looks somewhat odd as a result IMO.
The others are quite impressive though.

Guten Tag und hello!
Thanks very much Helly Angel for this interesting pictures of nazi architektur. It`s exciting to watch what happens with the last remaining buildings in germany. In a few years there will be maybe only the Kehlsteinhaus left because the state can reach profit from it. I want to use the message to inform you and all about a new DVD documentation called "Steinerne Dokumente des III.Reiches". You will see filmclips from Prora at Rügen, the new chancellery and Reichsluftfahrtministerium in Berlin, Luipoldarena, Kongresshalle in Nürnberg, honor temple in munich and Berchtesgadener Hof and much more ... A film which I can really recommend.
Kind regards
Knut

This building has been extensively modified from its original appearance, but it is the same building.

To Geoff Walden
Would it be possible to post some zip files somewhere of some of your fine collection of period color or colorized architectural pix in larger format? I love your site and understand loading/storage considerations, but the pix are so tiny and do not enlarge well.
Once finished browsing here I will post parts of my collection of scans and downloads that are appropriate.

Building "B" is Deutschlandhalle in Berlin, a Weimar-ear building by Architect Fred Forbat. It was used for many events during the NS period, including Hanna Reichs' famous tethered helocopter demos.Last I heard it was still in use, but had been totally remodeled postwar.

Excuseme, but I remember the correct name of the first german woman pilot was Hanna Reitsch. She was an incredible person, and she was eyewitness of the Battle of Berlín.

This is a fantastic article on Hanna Reitsch who left the Bunker the day before Hitler committed suicide. Well worth a read. She did survived the war and lived a long life. Incredible article.
