Die Ehrentempel in München and, that's right, only the foundation remains today.
Can you say definitively whether the picture in my first post is the north or south temple?
A contemporary view showing both temples clearly.

Ruins of the Honor Temple in the South side of Briennerstraße. The two Honor Temples were built as burial places for the sixteen Nazis who were killed in the Beer Hall Putnch. SS guards, known as "the Eternal Watch," guarded the temples day and night.

Hello everyone, sorry but I am a little confused as to where this place might have been.
I noticed the tall monument in the foreground in the picture posted by History Me
and the other picture (black&white) posted by Vance Pollock from that period.
Could it be the "mix" of photographs I have done?? - Picture I post here -
It seems it is not the same. I am a bit confused as to the exact placing of the buildings.
By the way, nice of you guys for sharing this piece of history. Interesting monuments...but bad for what they stood for.

Oh mon, did those Yankees like the neo-classical style of the Third Reich era in Munich.
For instance Haus der Kunst became a US Officers Club until the late 50ties.The Party building left of the E-tempel became Amerika Propaganda Haus. On Ludwig-Von der Tann Strasse is another new style building complex which was the US Consulate until a short time ago.
On Tegernseer Landstrasse another NSDAP build complex (Reichszeugmeisterei) was favored to become the Sacom Hq.for Southern Bavaria.
And you thought they were condemning anything nazi originated.
Blasphemy in motion???

Re: the Identify this building thread...
I took these photos from the Muenchener Stadtmuseum displaying one of the granite blocks removed from the Koenigsplatz after the war. The display, one stair flight down from the doll exhibit - what a freaky floor that was, is housed in the main exhibit hall separate from the NS museum which is another building in the museum's courtyard. On Sundays, the main museum lets free entrance, by the way. I'm not sure about the NS exhibit as it's a separate museum and I only had time to visit the main one that Sunday.
