Yes they used a lot of existing barracks. Made life easier and cheaper. Course, they would be adapted to fit needs etc. All those towns you mentioned seem to have been barracks towns with a long history.

For the Ortsgruppe Amshausen I found that Paul Kniekamp was the Ortsgruppenleiter...
at least in 1940.
Can somebody pls proof this info...?

I would also like to resurrect this thread and ask if there is a list of Gau numbers for Westfalen....I have uniforms (Brownshirt and dress tunic) to Gau 355, but it doesn't show on the small info available...know many were created and swallowed up into larger Gau's, but would like to get some info on that Gau number...
