Regarding the NS-Fliegerkorps I remember three Korpsführer:

a guy called Ziegler (don't remember his first name off hand); this may have been in the DLV days
then Friedrich Christiansen (who then became General der Flieger (Luftwaffe)) April 1937 - June 1943
and finally Alfred Keller (who, I believe, also was General der Flieger) 26 June 1943 - May 1945

Hope this gets you started!

There were only two men that held the rank of NSFK Korpsfuhrer:

Friedrich Christiansen 1937-1943
Alfred Keller 1943-45

both held general rank in the Luftwaffe.

Hello,

found the following dates for the RLB presidents on MichaelMiller's great site http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/

Hugo Grimme
last rank General der Flakartillerie
term of office
29.04.1933-30.04.1936 president

Karl von Roques
last rank General der Infanterie
term of office
01.08.1934-29.04.1936 vice president
30.04.1936-31.05.1939 president

Ludwig von Schröder
last rank General der Flakartillerie
term of office
01.12.1937-29.05.1939 vice president
30.05.1939-30.05.1941 president

Friedrich Hirschhauer
last rank General der Flakartillerie
term of office
01.08.1942-31.01.1945 president

So there is a vacany in the presidency of the Reichsluftschutzbund of more than a year aftter Schröder's departure. Can someone fill this gap?

Best regards
Torsten

It's getting a bit odd,

Michael Miller's site also lists
Heinrich Niehoff
last rank Generalleutnant
term of office
01.02.1936 - 31.03.1938 as chief of staff and vice president of RLB

Best regards

I think Heinrich Niehoff, moved to the Luftwaffe on 01.02.1936, was at first General z.b.V. der Luftwaffe, untill he succeeded Karl von Roques, when von Roques was promoted to Präsident des RLB on 30.04.1936.

BTW: The Vizepräsident des RLB was a Generalhauptluftschutzführer (im RLB)

Dieter, about the rank of Generalhauptluftschutzführer in RLB = Vizepräsident des RLB, which one they used? I mean why the two ranks for the same position?

I found this ranks for the RLB:

RLB-Präsident

Vize-Präsident

Gruppenführer

Hauptführer

Oberführer

Führer

Obertruppmeister

Truppmeister

Obertruppwart

Truppwart

Obertruppmann

Truppmann

Hello Humberto,

Nothing about DLV???
the head of DLV had the title 'DLV president' from its foundation till 31.03.1935
Bruno Lörzer
last rank Generaloberst
term of office
25.03.1933-31.03.1935 president

Then the title was changed to "Reichsluftsportführer" (RLF)

Alfred Mahncke or Mahnke (I've seen both spellings a number of times, I think Mahncke is the correct version.)
last rank General der Flieger
term of office
25.04.1935-31.01.1937 RLF

but in between

Bruno Lörzer
last rank Generaloberst
term of office
26.07.1935-25.10.1935 RLF

01.02.1937-07.04.1937 so far unknown

Friedrich von Arnauld de la Perriere
last rank Generalleutnant
term of office
08.04.1937-06.05.1937 RLF (I assume the Reichs Airport Leader from Mike Miller's site is actually a Reichs's air sport leader.)

After 06.05.1937 further RLFs or had the DLV been disbanded by this date?

Best regards
Torsten

Hello,

another oddity. Michael Miller lists another president of the RLM

Wilhelm Haehnelt
last rank General der Flieger
term of office
1933-31.05.1935 president
Source http://www.geocities.com/%7Eorion47/

Is this a misunderstanding on my part or what?

Hello Torsten,

you are correct, according Michael Miller list, General der Flieger Haehnelt was RLM president.
I saw that according to the same source he was vice-president of the German air sport formation 1926-1928 and state leader of the German air sport formation of Berlin 1929-1933
what was this formation?? the antecesor of DLV???

cordial greetings,

Humberto

Hello,

I think that refers to the other DLV, the ' Deutscher Luftfahrt-Verband ', an organization much older. If I remember correctly von Arnauld de la Perriere was a member of that DLV even before WWI. It must have enjoyed some kind of official support because it participated in awarding the Hindenburg Cup. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_der_Flieger_e.V.

Best regards
Torsten
