Another great book on understanding the inner turmoil within the party and how Hitler handled it is:

Donald M. McKale --- "The Nazi Party Courts"

It examines at length the NSDAP Party Court system under Walter Buch and Wilhelm Grimm and is a good semi-biography of Buch himself.

To understand better how the NSDAP worked and how it compared to the CP of USSR, a very good book is Hitler and Stalin, the Dictators by Richard OVERY.

This is my working bibliography of the Kampfzeit, the period between the re-founding of the NSDAP in 1926 and the appointment of Hitler as Chancellor in 1933. Though this list does include memoirs from the period it does not include biographies. This bibliography had been compiled during the course of my research from the books I have read, the bibliographies in those books, various library catalogs (primarily Hoover Institution, Library of Congress, University of Chicago).

Gerd Rühle's Das Dritte Reich is a period work and lacks objectivity but with eight volumes running to just under 4,000 pages is probably the most complete history there is.
Vol: * Kampfjahre 1918-1933
Vol I 1933, Vol II: 1934, Vol III: 1935, Vol IV: 1936, Vol V: 1937, Vol VI: 1938
and the last volume Das Grossdeutsche Reich because the series was curtailed by war.

By that do you mean it was published as these events were going on?

Yes. The party authorised Rühle to publish the books which were released by Hummel Verlag, Berlin. They came out yearly, and were envisoned (I presume) to be issued for as long as the party existed. As it is, they don't go beyond 1938. They're mostly text and then 100 pages of photos and fold out document reproductions at the back. The Nuremberg Blue Series quotes from the work on a number of occassions (3528-PS, 3458-PS, 3552-PS, 2532-PS etc.).

Das Dritte Reich (The Third Reich)

Volume* - Die Kampfjahre 1918-1933, 425 pp
Volume I - 1933, 475 pp
Volume II - 1934, 525 pp
Volume III - 1935, 525 pp
Volume IV - 1936, 500 pp
Volume V - 1937, 550 pp
Volume VI - 1938, 600 pp
Volume VII - Greater Germany 1918-1938 (special edition on the NSDAP in Austria), 430pp

The pp's are approx to the nearest ten.

This is my first post on this site so I hope I'm in the right place.
I have a reprint copy of the Organistionsbuch der NSDAP - 1943 edition. Excellent condition. I'm trying to find out what kind of price I can get for it. (I tried eBay but they wouldnt let me list it).
The book was re-printed in the mid 1970s.
Hope someone can help me out. Thanks.
