March 20 1945 picture of Hitler
Hi,
I'm trying to find a copy of a photo I saw in The Last Days Of Hitler: The Legends, the Evidence, the Truth (Cassell Military Paperbacks) by Anton Joachimsthaler, on page 158. It's of Heinz Lorenz, Artur Axmann, Schaub, and others with Hitler on March 20, 1945. There are around 8 older members of his staff around him. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this photo other than in this book? Thanks!

I´ve found it somewhere on the internet and I´d say it´s Axmann´s signature. This is the only version I´ve got.

I was under the impression that this was a still from the famous Chancellery garden EK award film? The Axmann signature is genuine, and a match for the one I got from him in the Canary Islands twenty years ago.

This is NOT a still from the movie. There were two cameramen present on March 20, 1945. One was the newsreel cameraman and the other was one of Heinrich Hoffmann's photographers. The photographer can be seen in the the newsreel movie footage in the background. The photo above along with several others was taken by the Photographer and is not taken from the movie film footage.

Where could I find the other photos taken by the still photographer that day? Thanks.
Also, to Vtwin Vince, how did you get Axmann's autograph? Did you happen to run into him when he lived in the Canary Islands?

Artur Axmann, with what I would say is a fake signature. Excellent photography by Bauer though.

Max, what is the provenance of your photo? I never met Axmann, unfortunately, but obtained his signature through a third party in the Canary Islands. I've always been confused about the date of the famous EK award film, is it March or April 20th? According to one of the recipients with whom I corresponded, Armin Dieter Lehmann, he was convinced it was in April.
