Phil,
-I am pretty sure Hermann Esser was not appointed Staatssekrtär im RMVP until (1939) maybe (Dec. 12,1939)!!!!

Phil,
-According to Goebbels Personal Diaries he replaced Leopold Gutterer as Staatssekretär on (April 25,1944). Although, I have seen a number of different dates for this before (For ex.-April 28 and May 1)!!! Also, in those diaries he dismissed Alfred-Ingemar Berndt on (June 7,1944) for indiscretion!!! If the Berndt date is correct then our Propaganda Abteilung der RMVP will have to be altered.

-Phil,
-Everything that I am finding has Wilhelm Haegert taking over the Abteilung Schrifttum in (November 1939) and some even say (end November 1939). This timeline would fit in with Hinkel serving as the Temporary Leiter in (1939). Are you positive of your (October 1,1939) date? I think Berndt was dismissed (October 1,1939) by Goebbels. Then Goebbels had Hans Hinkel act as a Temporary fill in until he could find a permanent fixture to replace Berndt. Finally, I think Goebbels found his man (Wilhelm Haegert) sometime in (November 1939). If I am correct then we will have to alter our Abteilung Schrifttum List!!!

-This is the way the Abteilung Scrifttum should look:

-Abteilung VIII (Schrifttum) RMVP- (Department VIII (Literature) RMVP)
-(October 1,1934-August 1937)- Dr. Heinz Wismann- (Erster)
-(June 28,1937-October 1938)- Karl Heinz Hederich- (Official dismissal was December 24, 1938)
-(October 1938-October 1,1939)- Alfred-Ingemar Berndt- (Official takeover was December 24, 1938)
-(1939)- Hans Hinkel- (Zeitweilig Kommissarischer)
-(November 1939-May 1945)- Wilhelm Haegert

-Anyone know the first name of Ministerialdirektor Dräger (maybe Hans or Jörg) and the date that he succeeded Dr. Heinrich Hunke as Leiter der Abteilung Ausland im RMVP. Also, anyone know if it was Dr. Ernst Biebrach or Kurt Biebrach that replaced Otto von Keudell as Leiter der Abteilung Bildende Kunst im RMVP? What date did the Biebrach fellow take over for Keudell?

Dr. phil. h.c. Hans K. H. F. W. Draeger

11.01.1944 Leiter der Abteilung VII (Ausland) im Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda

With a probability bordering on certainty he was also a Militärverwaltungsvizechef, but where, when and what field of activity resp. what area of operation ???

-I hane some news on the Hans Draeger appointment to Leiter der Abteilung Ausland im RMfVuP. I found a transmission from Rosenberg on (December 22, 1943) that suggests Rosenberg was not happy with Draeger becoming the next Leiter of the Abteilung Auslands. Bormann dismissed Rosenbergs's complaint then on (January 12, 1944) another transmission states that Draeger is appointed to Leiter der Abteilung Auslands im RMfVuP. Rosenberg wanted further examination into RAL Draeger, but it was to no avail. Chalk up another victory for Bormann!!! One thing I do not understand is why Goebbels wouldn't have had the last say so in his own Ministry????
