You see me surprised
- this man was a so-called "old guard". He was in the Nazi era Ministerial and past president of a South German parliament. He also organized the World Chess Championship 1934. After the outbreak of war he was employed in CdZ in Alsace. As a "representative for return Affairs" at CdZ he traveled from 1940 for the "retrieval of cultural and archive goods" through occupied France. He was NSFK-Standartenführer and was recorded in 1941 as Obersturmbannführer in the general SS.
