Mark,

Do you know what the award is opposite the Breast Star to the German Red Cross on the funeral pillow to the left? The Blood Order is between both of them.

Best,

James

Ali:

The man behind Rattenhuber is Richard Schulze-Kossens not Günsche.

James:

I do not know the decoration but it appears to be the one that is usually seen in some photos of Huhnlein. Most likely at WWI decoration.

As for the Award Pillows, I can only recognize the following:

Left Pillow:

Blood Order
Golden Party Badge
Breast Star to the German Red Cross (early pattern)
War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords
War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords
1914 Iron Cross 1st Class
1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class
Cross of Honor 1914-1918

Right Pillow:

German Olympic Games Decoration 1st Class

Any other guesses?

Best,

James

I think it looks more like Vizeadmiral Hans-Erich Voss

The naval Kapitan zur See on the aisle in the third row is Puttkamer.

Hello Mark,

Thanks, do you think the Naval Officer behind Bormann walking with Hitler is Voss?

James

Voss is not in any of the photos, only Puttkamer in regards to naval personnel near Hitler.

Thanks to everyone for all the help. I've managed to find 24 good quality photographs of the funeral and the completed article is now available on my website:

http://www.worldwarstoday.co.uk/2011/10 ... our-1.html

A big thanks to everyone who chipped in with information. :)

On a related matter, does anyone have information on NSKK-Obergruppenführer Joseph Seydel who is pictured standing next to the gun carriage containing Hühnlein's coffin? I've definitely seen his face in a few photographs but there doesn't seem to be much information about his career or post-WW2 fate.
