Any interesting info available for this important man? Or pictures. I know that the book on Nazi Party Courts is in part a semi-bio of the man.

Trespasser07,
-I was looking at your link and I noticed that Buch was marked down as weighing 127lbs. Man, I did not realize he was so small!!! Also, you might hit Mark Costa up for Buch info as he always seems to know a lot about the München Reichsleiter.

I also noticed this Pitino for a 6 foot man this is very underweight I assume it was the prison rations that brought about this kind of weight loss.

But then again the date reads 22.06.1945 so he can't have been in captivity for more than a month and a half or so!!

Is there anything avaliable on his death? He was sentenced to 5 years labor and was not charged under the IMT.

Was Buch also a free man or still in captivity when he took his own life?

He was sentenced to 5 years' hard labor on 29.07.1949 but released the same day. So, when he commited suicide on 12.11.1949, he was a free man. See "Leaders of the SS and German Police, Vol. 1" by Michael D. Miller, pp. 191-199.

Thanks Igor, I wonder why he did this if he was a free man. I guess as one of the most ardent nazis he saw no future for himself.

What is the date of his Gruppenführer and Oberführer (Brigadeführer?) promotion?

Buch was promoted to SS Grüppenführer on July 1, 1933. He did not hold SS Brigadeführer rank.
