I have never seen these compilation.

mjölnir,

Here is a better view of the Äskulapstab on the collar of the bald SA-Gruppenführer to the right. Anyone know who he is?

Fred
Hello Fred,
It is SA-Gruf. (S) Dr.med. Johannes Lohmann.
Best regards,

Andrey.

Another SA-Obergruppenführer to ID (apparently also a Dr.med.). Source: NARA

I thought he looked like the previous 1934 photo I posted here (identified as Hocheisen by Dieter Zinke), but that previous photo has a ribbon-bar & an EKI (Hocheisen was a rather highly decorated officer in the first world war). This 1934 photo has no ribbon-bar and doesn't appear to have an EKI, so it made me wonder...I find it unusual for such an officer in uniform not to at least be wearing his EKI (even at this angle, an EKI centered on the pocket would be noticeable)...but, it sure looks like Hocheisen. Anyway, thanks for the identification.

I've noticed that in a number of these NARA photos from the early years, it's odd but not uncommon to see men with tunics adorned only with armband and rank insignia. This is the case with a number of Hocheisen photos in the Hoffmann collection.

Best wishes,

Another ID. Who is the SA-Obergruppenführer on the right? (Source: NARA)

Michal,

At first, I also thought is was Meyer-Quade, but this person seems to be an SA-Obergruppenführer and Meyer-Quade didn't get promoted to that rank until 09.11.1937 (this is a 1934 photo). It may be that he is wearing the insignia of an SA-Brigadeführer and that would "fit," but, to me, it looks more like the rank of an SA-Obergruppenführer (see below). Having said all that, it sure looks like Meyer-Quade!

Absolutely correct, Aisin. That is the elusive SA-Ogruf. Fuchs (of whom I've now seen only three photos).
