Alter Kämpfer

Post by MetalGudde » 14 Oct 2014, 18:41

I got a document I bought from Kramatorsk/Ukraine and before it came from the market in Kharkov. I have never seen this before and I would be happy for some info and if it's real. I know the story behind "alter kämpfer" only from wikipedia but I'm not sure if it's a fake id. It's the signature of Himmler a stamp? wye is there not a party number? It's signed 1941 wye so late?
Size front 127X100 mm, pic 2 is 127X200 mm. It's made of cloth and hard paper, it is blue. The round "coin" in the photo is in some kind of metal (led).

It's a total fake. The stamps, the joke Himmler signature, the misspelling, the photo......everything about it is fantasy. Sorry.
Max.

Where is it misspelled? Well I thought it was a fake and it seems I got the right feeling. Same seller sell 2 other similar object I put them in. Are these other 2 fake as well? "Werwolf" and "16 panzergrenadier division"

Yes, both fantasy pieces.
Look at the spelling of Sturmbannführer and Standarte.

MetalGudde,
-You have to be really careful when buying NSDAP memorabilia as there is an entire industry out there that makes a living on "bunk" items from that era. Look for reputable dealers and do you history. Sorry and I hope that it did not put you back too much!

Well I had my doubts about it and as I didn't find any pics of it in books or Google, it was doomed, but I have learned my lesson and be Moore carefully in the future. "Sound to good to be true, it is" I will write back to the seller and ask my payment back. Think's anyway for your answer I will continue my collecting but think back of this mistake. We all have to learn on the way. I'm no expert on this field, just a moderate collector with interest in WW2.
