Ordensburg Vogelsang
Ordensburg Vogelsang
Picked up some copies of 'Die Kunst im Deutschen Reich' and found these three images of statues by Willy Meller situated inside the Odensburg Vogelsang.

Re: Ordensburg Vogelsang
Great photos, thanks! The bottom two works still exist at Vogelsang, somewhat the worse for wear from damage over the years by occupying forces.

Thanks, Geoff, vey interesting.
The first image is, of course, inside, and the description is 'The Honour Room of the fallen of the Movement.'

Re: Ordensburg Vogelsang
Hi Wessel,
The work that was inside the honor hall is gone now - only the three supports that held the platform are still there. Here are a couple other period views of "Der deutsche Mensch" -
This work of Sportlers is down on the Vogelsang sports field. Was this work also by Meller?

Great photos, Geoff. The Sports figures are not in the Magazine article but they are very similar to other male statues done by Meller.
