Early Blood Order holders - what happened to their decorations?

I was wondering what hat happened to all the Blood Order medaills after Mai 1945.
Were they automatically destroyed, banned and burned, or stayed hidden in the property of the owners?
Or were they mostly wanted "remembrance items" for alliied personal to take with them?

Like most awards, they were liberated by the Allies or well hidden by the recipients!

A few reside in my collection now. But yes, some remained in the family or with the recipient, some were removed by the Allies as souvenirs, perhaps some were destroyed so as to remove connection to the party.
