Here is my list of the RAD Generals. Hopefully someone can update this as there are many gaps. Note: the rank of Oberst-generalarbeitsfuhrer, although created in 1943 seems never to have been awarded. And the ranks of Oberstgeneralfeldmeister and Generalfeldeister as listed in Angolia's book simply never existed.

Hans Baumann
Wilhelm Busse
Wilhelm Decker
Alfred Muller -- head of Arbeitsgau 26
Dr. Fritz Schroeder
Hermann Tholens
Karl Wilhelm Von Alten -- head of Arbeitsgau 15
Curt Freiherr Loffelholz Von Colberg
Dr. Hermann Wager
Schinnerer, First name unknown -- head of Arbeitsgau 31.

GENERALARBEITSFUHRERS:
These are listed by Arbeitsgaus per the 1943 RAD Jahrbuch. Most first names are unknown to me.

Brendel, ?
Ehrlich, ?

AnDie --- Many thanks for your great list. It is much appreciated. I assume the char. before the ranks indicates retired or honorary?
Do you have any info regarding the promotion of Wagner to Generalfeld meister? I have been told by one of the experts on the RAD that this rank did not exist. Do you have any pre-1945 documentation?

Thanks again for all your help.

eorges:

Thank you for all your help in listing the first names of the Generalarbeitfuhrers. I was working off of a 1943 RAD Jahrbuch and it did not list all the first names. Very few available books describe the RAD in detail and the leaders are even less known. Many thanks for your help.

Hi Mark,

Wagner was promoted on 20.04.1945 to Generaloberfeldmeister (not Generalfeldmeister - my mistake in the list).
I have no documents. I have only a list of RAD Generals with the last ranks from Dr. Horst Henrich (he died 2001).
But the german expert of RAD is Dr. Michael Jonas (see his http://www.arbeitsdienst.de)
Have you the other promotion dates of Hermann Wagner?

Many thanks for your reply. This is the first time I have heard of the rank Generaloberfeldmeister. The others were Generalfeldmeister and Oberst-generalfeldmeister according to Angolia's book. My source that these did not exist was the premier collector Clyde Davis. Davis stated that these never existed, only the rank of Oberst-generalarbeitsfuhrer, which he said was never awarded. I will have to relay this info to him on Wagner. I have a bio of him from Patzwalls book on KC holders of the Merit Cross will post to you later as I am at work right now.

Also, The RAD jahrbuch for 1943 lists Alfred Muller as a Obergeneralarbeitsfuhrer.

What does the "char" stand for before the ranks ?

Thanks again.

Hi Stauffenberg II !

Thanks very much for that - I guess that makes him Obergeneralarbeitsfuehrer Fritz Schroeder as there doesn't appear to be any other Schroeder.

VJK

Actually I have evidence of two Obergeneralarbeitsfuhrers named Schroeder --- Fritz Schroeder and a Ludwig Schroeder. Take your pick !
