Pre-1933 NSDAP in Berlin

Postby Nisse on 18 Sep 2003 11:29

Hello!

This is my first post on this forum, but I have been hanging around for a few weeks reading some of the posts. It is very interesting reading material!

I have a question for the community, and I wasn't sure where to put it, but the subject is the pre-1933 NSDAP in Berlin, so this is probably the right place. (If not, feel free to move it.)

I am writing an essay about the Berlin NSDAP in the years 1927-1932, and I have come across some persons I would like to know more about, but I haven't been able to find much. I was wondering if some of the members of this forum could provide with some information, or point the way to where I could find some.
These persons are Julius Lippert, Hans Hinkel, Heinz Franke and Dagobert Dürr. There are many more, but we could start with these. I know something about them, but would like to know more.

These men were in the "nothern branch" of the Nazi movement, as you like to call it, but they were also all of them connected to the Berlin newspaper Der Angriff, published by Goebbels from 1927. This is well known, they all had important positions in the paper, but I was wondering if some of you knew some more, maybe about their political background. i have heard rumours that this Heinz Franke was a former Communist, and I would like to verify this.

If you want to know about the pre-1933 NSDAP in Berlin, read "Kampf um Berlin" by Goebbels. It can be found online and is devoted to the subject.

Try the following:

"Goebbels and Der Angriff," by Russel Lemmons, University Press of Kentucky, 1994.
