-While looking through the book, "Working for the Enemy" by Reinhold Billstein, Karola Fings, and Anita Kugler I stumbled upon a Wehrwirtschaftfuhrer that I don't think has been posted yet. His name was Gerd Stieler von Heydekampf. Here is a very short bio on him:

Gerd Stieler von Heydekampf- (Wehrwirtschaftfuhrer)
-(1933)- Joined the NSDAP
-(1936)- Appointed to the Opel board
-Served as the Director of the Brandenburg Blitz plant
-(Start of war-1942)- Served as Head Inspector of the Armaments Commando (Rustungskommando) based in
Potsdam
-He had the power to mobilize homefront resources on behalf of his plant

Dear Pitino,

unfortunately you are mistaken !
Stieler von Heydekampf was
1937 - 1939 Inspekteur der Wehrwirtschaftsinspektion IX (Kassel)
1939 - 1940 Rüstungs-Inspekteur im Wehrkreis IX
and
1940 - 1942 Rüstungs-Inspekteur im Wehrkreis III

but he was never a Wehrwirtschaftsführer !!!!!
His bio (13 pages) will be in volume 5 of "Die Generale der Waffen-SS und der Polizei" next year.

Best regards
Dieter Z.

Potentially the position of Director of the Brandenburg "Blitz" plant is a position of a Wehrwirtschaftsführer. His (most likely direct) successor
Dipl.-Ing. Heinrich (Heinz) Nordhoff, Werksleiter Opel-LKW-Werk Brandenburg/Havel (Opel "Blitz" production) , the post-war head of VW, was appointed W. though I havn't found a precise date.

Prior to dec 1938 : establishment of the "Wehrwirtschaftsrat" by Hermann Göring. 87 Members appointed to so-called "Wehrwirtschaftsführer" , we see the early appointments in 1937 so far.

regards,
Bernd

Stieler von Heydekampf was seated in Wehrkreis III, Berlin, and in his area of responsibilty was also
Opel-LKW-Werk Brandenburg/Havel.

See for comparison in the RK KVK-sticky the bio of Dr. Ing. Ernst Blaicher:
30.01.1942 Ernennung zum [appointment as ... ] Wehrwirtschaft-Führer durch Konteradmiral (Ing.) Ernst Stieringer, Rüstungsinspekteur XI (Hannover)

Dieter,
If I am mistaken then I am sorry for posting it, but the book seemed to be credible in other areas of info that I researched. I don't know why the authors would have put that in there if they did not have a source for it.

Thanks,
Pitino

Hello gentlemen!

I suspect that we are talking about two different persons. Pitino refers to Gerd Stieler von Heydekampf (1905 - 1982), whereas Dieter is referring to Generalleutnant Hans Stieler von Heydekampf (1880 - 1946). Gerd was “Generaldirektor von Henschel & Sohn” and „stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Henschel-Konzerns nach Kassel”, so maybe that qualified him for the title of Wehrwirtschaftsführer.

Best regards,

VJK

Another Wehrwirtschaftsführer since 20.05.1937 is
Dr.-Ing e. h. Walter Borbet (* 09.09.1881 Gelsenkirchen-Schalke, † 04.01.1942 Bochum)
1933 Aufsichtsratsvorsitzender der Ruhrstahl AG;
1940 Leiter des Ausschusses für Auftragserteilung beim Reichsministerium für Bewaffnung und Munition

This is a very old thread, but ... I found a "Generaldirektor/Wehrwirtschaftsführer" of an I.G. Farben company, not a military leader. What does it mean in terms of a large company?

Created in 1935, this title was given to managers of companies which deal with armors first by an office of OKW. From 1938, the title was proposed by Ministery of Economy. From 1940, title was given to managers of no armor factories but in relation with war effort. This allow to the company the right to avoid the negative aspects of the labour laws.

Hi,

This is rather a late addition to this thread, but I hope someone can help me with locating some info on a "Wehrwirtschaftsführer/director" named Karl Müller or Carl Müller (born 28/3/1876).

Many many thanks,
Neil
