Next to himmler , with leather coat is Bormann , on himmler other side Keitel , on the left with the red lapels is Jodl and in the third row looking up is Heydrich .

Just taking a guess I say it is the eve of the Invasion of USSR, perhaps Central Poland?

That shorter guy between Keitel and Jodl could be Hitler's Press Chief Dr. Dietrich as he was always with Hitler whenever he went...

Who is that guy left to Hitler? Todt?

Its NOT Jodl but FM Witzleben.

Dr. Brandt between Keitel and Himmler. Todt is next to Hitler.
Its NOT Heydrich but SS Officer Fritz Darges.

It is definately NOT Dietrich between Witzleben and Keitel. Dietrich was not in the Army but a Reichsleiter and usually wore SS Generals uniform.

You are right, it is more likely Witzleben, not Jodl.

(Takes another look on picture...) You are right (again) that Dietrich usually wore SS uniform and this guy doesn't wear...but he really looks like Dietrich...

I shoul think the photograph was taken during a visit to the front during the campaign in Poland. The "Sam Browne" belt as worn by some of the officers was discontinued after September 1939. Von Witzleben still appears to wear the two pips of a General der Infanterie. He was not promoted Generaloberst until November 1939.

Glenn --- The photo was definately taken in either 1938 or early 1939, Certainly before September 1, 1939.

Hitler is wearing his Brown visor cap with cockade and wreath. This cap with the wreath was created in May 1938 for his state visit to Italy and he stopped wearing it on August 31, 1939. After that day he never wore it again. So this is the time frame of this photo.

Mark,

I think you may well be right. There is a photograph in Andrew Mollo's "A Pictorial History of the SS 1923-1945" which shows AH and the Reichsführer-SS in the same gear as the above photo near Eger in the Sudetenland on 3rd October 1938.

Who is the SA man standing near to Hitler (More or less between Hitler and Bormann)?

And how about the man in the civilian - fedora-style -hat, standing just left of the SS man in the back center?
