there is the famous picture by zucca of the building on rue de l'opera with the banner "Kommandantur" stretched on the facade. however, desprairies says, as many have, that the home of the Kommandantur was actually the hotel meurice and that the building at rhe corner of rue de quatre septembre and avenue de l'opera was the office of the sanitary section of the Kommandantur. it looks too grand for that pedestrian occupation. so i wonder if anyone knows what that building was.
