Beautiful!
The Olympics were really something, weren't they?

One word which I find applicable to all pictures of this type: HOPE.
HOPE for a new beginning for Germany. For something bigger. Better.

Most of the Germans would either be dead or maimed or under occupation a decade later.
How a window of opportunity for grandiose things can be missed quickly in human history...Its astonishing.

I was thinking the exact same thing, Webdragon.

This man must have thought of himself as a decent and law abiding German citizen.
Patriot, monarchist, conservative. And possibly had other "typically German" virtues like cleanliness, discipline, etiquette, sense of duty, strong work ethics, etc.

But at the same time he was educated, interested in art, architecture, history, nature, and technology.
Now if one tries to assess the psychology of the owner of the book judging by the pictures in it, it is not all that surprising he would welcome the NSDAP as saviors of the country.

Esp. since the communist party who represented everything he was against, must have seemed a threat to him, and to millions like him.

May I get these pictures too?
I have done quite a lot of research on the Stahlhelm, so I might try to identify people on that.

Kein problem.

There are 4 pictures of the 1930 Breslau Stahlhelm ceremony in the photo album. I didn't post all four of them.
Like I said the photographs are quite small, maye 5 x 7 cm, but if I scan them at better resolution, maybe that could help with your Stahlhelm research.
