They had information, reports pointing directly to the place they were digging in. They didn't have anything about the place with manholes.

Manholes are everywhere there, it is a heavily urbanized place.
That man should check with the city's planning department who is the owner of those manholes first. What is their purpose. They are all registered.

This is the end, no more drilling or digging.
The newest plan is to create a seismic profile of the entire embankment, and forget the drilling as too costly and unreliable.
They say they will do it by the end of the year.

They did new surveys using various methods a few weeks ago, and supposedly were able to determine the most promising spot for drilling - several meters from the place they drilled last year.
The said to be absolutely sure, they were going to do more measurements this month, using another method in cooperation with PBG Geophysical Exploration Ltd. Nothing new has been announced since then.

Those people are simply having fun, they are doing it at their spare time, with their own money. This is why it all proceeds slowly and randomly.
Although it seems they are true believers, I think the "having fun" part is the most important for them. They are intrigued by inconsistencies in the latest measurements, and because of that they want to leave no stone unturned.

In addition to "having fun" -- which I am always in favor of! -- these folks are continuing to attract attention as they make new videos of their "progress" and show them on TV! Being a suspicious person, I'm sure that someone is making money on this project somewhere, regardless of what is found or not found in the ground!

Or they're losing money like mad and throwing good money after bad. I've seen people go broke trying to prop up projects like this.

The man of the left, in the "tactical" shirt runs a successful construction company. So the needed expertise, and the hardware he basically has for free.

It was another man, with his own idea of the place where the train was hidden who made all the professional YouTube videos, although he ran out of steam a long time ago. These two don't do videos.
I don't think anyone is making money out of it, those people are really true believers.
