When I was stationed in Germany, the father of our medic was a B-24 Radio Operator who was shot down and captured by the Germans. Doc said when he was on his first tour of Germany, he invited his dad for a visit.

"Only for revenge" was his answer.

Finally, he came over and checked things out. Driving thru Mannheim, he said, "last time I was here, it was 14 feet of broken brick."
