Street With a Name of a War Hero

While reading about the life of Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer, the famous night fighter ace of Luftwaffe, I came across the information about his hometown, Calw, in Germany and learned that the street "Heinz-Schnaufer-Straße" in that town was named after him.

As far as I know, it's not a common practice to name places or streets with the names of war heroes from the III. Reich era unless they are from the resistance.

Or is it?
