What was the black population in Germany during those times? Did many of them immigrate as the jews did or did they not feel in danger? I always wondered about Hitler's opinion of blacks in the USA and elsewhere. It seems to me they would be pretty high up on his hit list?

1. "The Forgotten Holocaust"(original title L'holocauste oublie, by Christian Bernadac) dealt with the extermination of a large number of Gypsies(who I don't remember to have been Blacks :aliengray );

2. The Black population in Germany counted about 200,000 in 1939, many of them being from the former German African colonies;

3. They mostly did not immigrate, because they did not need to, since they were well treated :mrgreen:

There was no systematic persecution against Blacks in Germany. Those who held citizenship could vote, and were drafted in the Wehrmacht.

Hans Massaquoi, a Black who had lived during the Third Reich in Germany, claimed to have lived more or less "normal", but to have been harrassed due to his colour by various people(HJ officials etc)

~Ovidius

PS Jesse Owens had claimed to have been better treated in Germany than in his home USA and even Stormfront.org had to admit this :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I doubt very much that the black population of Germany was as much as 200,000! There were a few thousand 'imported' blacks from Germany's former African colonies, and around 30,000 products of liaisons (and in many cases rapes) between French-African soldiers and German women in the Rhineland. Most of the latter were treated as aliens and sterilised to prevent them from spreading non-Aryan genes; after the fall of France in 1940 many were dumped in French territory. I don't know much about the few colonial blacks except that many of these found gainful employment as actors, circus performers and similar occupations.

In summary, there was never a 'black problem' in Germany and the few who lived there were rapidly dealt with according to National-Socialist doctrine.

So, black people were drafted into the German army... Is there any record, any picture, anything about this?

Best regards

It will be interesting know which racial measures were taken against black people by the Nazi Government.
Or Nuremberg rules were against black people too?

I think it's a black soldier from the French forces. Some of them took part in the occupation of Germany after WW1.
