I think you're right. The fold on the rh breast pocket and overall dress appears that way.

One of the motivators for blacks in America was defense of Jews. The western press cared little for people of African ancestry anywhere, and not that much about Jews. There was a small black community in Germany comprised of former "Tanzanians" and such, but there were also blacks who moved there from the USA with WW2, soldiers who, like Jesse Owens, felt more comfortable there.

I have wondered about the treatment of blacks in Germany and am glad to hear that they were treated somewhat fairly anyway. Their treatment could have been worse....a lot worse. I remember I read in a book about Hitler that he did not like Jazz becouse he considered it "N..... Music" and refused to listen to it. I will leave it to you to figure out what the "N" stands for becouse I am not about to type it out.
It is well known that Hitler ran Albert Einstein out of Germany and would have nothing to do with the Theory Of Relativity becouse he said it was "Jew Physics" and so not worthy of further study. His loss was most definitely our gain.
The other Big Brain in Germany (there were actually lots of them) was Werner Von Braun who did his major Rocket Research work at Peenemunde. He had to wear a Nazi uniform under Himmler's orders and I hope that Werner felt that he had to in order to get to the Moon and not becouse he wanted to becouse he was really a Nazi at heart. I doubt very, very much that he was a Nazi at heart.

It's interesting to note that Hitler was such a bigot that he even condemned the Jazz the was being played in the night clubs of Berlin as "N"......! music and refused to listen to it. He also referred to Einstein's Theory of Relativity as "Jew Physics" and wanted no part of it. This was a blessing in disguise becouse Einstien had to leave Germany due to Hitler's sanctions against the Jews and so Einstein wound up over in the U.S.A. Imagine, if you can, how Hitler would have used a thermonuclear bomb if he had the foresight to back Einstein and and any group of German physists who wanted to do thermonuclear bomb research.

Black soldiers

In France, some blacks enlisted in the LVF and became the first black men to use the German uniform during the Second World War. Finally 12 of them enlisted and one of them died near Moscow and was buried in the snow. Another was a black fascist, Louis Joachim Eugene, (aged 40 in 1942), who served on the staff of the LVF in 1941. Then he returned to France and joined the organization as Truppfühhrer Todt (sergeant), where workers monitor
Another was Norbert Desire, also a French citizen enrolled in the LVF. We were awarded several medals, including "Winterschlacht im Osten" (the "Medal of frozen meat" and was dubbed) and Verwundetenabzeichen.
In 1944, Desire was the last black man in the LVF. When the LVF was integrated into the 33rd SS Volunteer Grenadier Division Charlemagne, Desire SS wanted to enter but was refused on racial grounds, much to his regret. So I did a free volunteer worker in a factory in Germany (his case and the case of a volunteer Jewish LVF were the only two cases in which they were denied entry into the SS on racial grounds).
After the war, Norbert Desire was sentenced to forced labor. Later worked as a docker in a French port until his death in May 1969 (he died prematurely at 59, for his long years in labor camps). There was also a French black in the Abwehr, after special training by the SS Otto Skorzeny Suedwest Jagdkommando was parachuted into France as a spy in 1945. He was later captured by the gaullists who condemned him. Another French black guy I was an assistant of the Gestapo. It is believed he fell at the end of the war.

It is true in the German Army's Wehrmacht soldiers were blacks and Jews. Many decorated. by value. This shows that the history of the 2nd World War is not as real as it has.

Please try to stay on the topic of this thread -- Black Germans during and after WW2. We already have open threads on Jews who served in the German armed forces.
