Hello

Rommel and the 7th Panzer Division arrives at Petites Dalles June 7, 1940 (France - Normandy - Seine Maritime)
Image

Today, the beach has not changed and the little house on the cliff is renovated.
The only difference is the bunkers built between 1940 and 1944 by these German "visitors".

Regards :)

I'm trying to find the now location of these JP so I can take a few pictures of the area in my little field trip soon. The Large church like structure in the middle of the photo, does anyone know where this is? I'm thinking its the church in Butgenbach. Supposedly these 3 JP where knocked/abandoned during the 20 December assault on Dom Butgenbach trying to work their way through E and F company 2nd Bn, 26th Infantry Regt. Any information would be appreciated

353rd fighter group Mustangs take off from station 157 in England - 36 take off in pairs, Packard built merlin engines
rev hard to lift a P51 fully laden with extra wing tanks.
A long range, deep penetration mission, escorting the heavies bound for Germany.

All quiet now - just a gentle breeze and skylarks singing

Have you anymore info on the three JP? Any idea when the picture you posted was taken? Wounder how long they sat there before they were removed and if any of them now find themselves in museums or private collections.
