Thanks, uli, those are GREAT then-and-now shots! Especially Saal an der Saale - I love that one!

Re: Then and now photographs
There are not many identified photos from East Prussia and just few from Allenstein, today Olsztyn. One of the best known and most published is abandoned Marder II.
With recent Google Street View update I was able to make this compilation.

Re: Then and now photographs
Great comparison, Uli! Another early Panther, like the one that was nearby on Zollnerstrasse. I guess there must have been a Panther training unit at the Kaserne there.

Hello all.
Sorry, I don't know year, but here's ''Krasnoarmeyskaya pravda'' editorial office during the WW2 with an unknown truck: Now the building is used as a polyclinic and it condition leaves something to be desired:

Hi ain92,
thank You very much for the photographs. That´s very interesting, but can You tell me, please, in which town I can find this building.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Then and now photographs
You can click on the second photo and see that this is Smolensk, I also added a link to Wikimapia at the third photo. By the word the building is placed at Dzerzhinskogo Street, 3.SIS 5 wrote:Hi ain92,

Some scenes from the Dodecanese. All images feature in the book Swastika over the Aegean.

On 3 October 1943, German forces landed on Kos and by the next day had defeated British and Italian forces defending the island. In this photograph, German troops can be seen in an otherwise deserted Kos town early on 4 October. The same location is shown sixty-six years later. This is now Plateia Eleftherias (Freedom Square).

Re: Then and now photographs
On 18 October 1943, Fallschirmjäger of 15. Kompanie/4. Regiment ‘Brandenburg’ were tasked with securing the island of Levitha and rescuing German prisoners of war. One of the objectives was Segnale, site of a wireless station (according to German intelligence), or a meteorological station (according to the British). The battle-damaged building still exists, although the observatory has collapsed, partially filling the ground floor with rubble.

Re: Then and now photographs
The following eight images are of Leros. German forces invaded the island on 12 November 1943.
This is one of four 102/35 guns at the Italian battery P.L. 211 on Rachi, a much-contested feature during the five-day battle, which ended in a German victory.

Meraviglia, not far from Allied Fortress Headquarters. In the middle distance: a 40mm Bofors; to its right, P.L. 127 battery command post.
