Hello all, many times i have wondered how to tell field kitchens apart. Have taken the time to figure Hf types out at least. notice people have asked the same question on the forums. Hf. 11 and 13 have some difference. Hf. 12 and 14 are visually the same almost. Have started to upload info on Hf. 11 for peoples viewing, any help with someone who may know the use of some of the compartments would be great thanks. See here

A KuK Military Cooking Wagon 1910 model produced in Wien.
An examble of the wagon I found last year exibited at the halle of Concertvatorium of Alanya/Turkey. Ignorant people painted the wagon in red as if it is a fire wagon. Original paint must be grey (Feldgrau)

Hello all, after studying about 1000 images on field kitchens i have found the differeces of

Hf. 11 - http://www.panzerarmee.com/?page_id=3957

Hf. 13 - http://www.panzerarmee.com/?page_id=3963

I believe to have found the differences of Hf. 12 and 14. however i can not clarify. The book Bespannte Fahrzeuge des deutschen heeres by wolfgang fisher. I believe shows a pic of a Hf.11 and not a Hf. 12 you can see the other side chamber in the shot which rules it out as a small field kitchen, therefore have no ID picture as a refference point. Have images displaying 2 different types of small field kitchen Hf. 12 and 14 - need someone who has studied field kitchens to discuss. Will take me a week to get images up for those 2 field kitchens. Anyone able to help clarify, please contact

Hi All. To sort out Hf. 12 and 14 correctly Im looking for images of small field kitchens during WWI. Has anyone come across photos of small field kitchens from that era ?? The Hf. 12 was meant to have been introduced around 1915/16. Please if you could post them on forum or PM so im able to find a 100% positive difference between the 2 types if there is one.. (only found one which I cant confirm without world war I photos). Thanks for your help

Hi Sturm 78,

sorry, it is a "große Feldküche" – a large field kitchen – (Hf. 11) respectively (Hf. 13). I´ll post a pic (source: expired ebay auction).

Regards

Bert

Thanks for your correction, Bert,

Do you have any drawing of the Hf.11-13 and Hf.12-14 kitchens?
Sometimes it's hard for me to distinguish between these models. :x :?

Here, two more images from Ebay:

Image 1: I think Hf.12 or Hf.14
Image 2: I think Hf.11 or Hf.13

Hi Sturm,

to Your question about the field kitchens. I think it is not so difficult to distinguish the small and the large field kitchens. It is much more difficult to distinguish Hf. 11 and 13 or Hf. 12 and 14.
I´m sorry, I have no drawings of these field kitchens. It would be a great help, but I don´t know, if there exist such drawings. In the net I´ve found a good pic with declarations of a large field kitchen Hf. 13 and a drawing, in French, not totally correct, but I think it could help. Source of the pic and the drawing: http://www.dday-overlord.com/forum/sur- ... 00-60.html .
And I will post of a small field kitchen Hf. 14 (source: ebay).
The small field kitchen hasn´t the compartments on the right side. That´s the difference between the samll and the great field kitchen.
30th May you posted an excellent pic of a large field kitchen Hf. 11. Thanks a lot for that.
The last two pics You identified correctly I think.

Please, have a look on Adrians site http://www.panzerarmee.com. There are good pics of the field kitchens.

Regards

Bert
