Vehicle identity requests

Discussions on the vehicles used by the Axis forces.
Long-time forum member Ron Klages (1939 - 2007) generously shared his knowledge and the results of his impressive research with the forum, and this section has therefore been renamed in his honour.

It's a Czechoslovak Jawa prototype (it probably doesn't have any name or code) from year 1938. Not much info about it... :(
The photo is in a book Atlas Nasich Automobilu 4.

thank you so much, i sure do appreciate your effort. its a shame that this has no more info than what you found. thanks alot Jose85.

I found on Ebay this pic. I think the trucks and trailer are well known..... but whats a bout the load of the left 2 trucks???

Are this engines for a ferry build from the pontoons ? I told three engines. I think they are very big?

Can someone help?

Hi Henning

http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=168276&start=15#p1517980
Shows out board motors used on a pontoon bridge (Type B equipment), They would be powered up enough so they counteracted the river current and kept the bridge straight. They were used on ferries made from pontoon as well. In the same thread are a few photos of these. I have stated they are Ford V8 engines, at the moment I cannot find were I got that from, possibly from a Waffen-Arsenal book (but which one?).

Are they the engines for the ferries you posted http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=168276&start=240#p1701872 less their propellers?

Hi Clive

I think you could be right. i think its a "normal" engineer unit with Brückengerät B and not a "Siebel" ferry. So I look in the Waffen Arsenal No S41 and found a Kstn for such a unit. It should be 6 engines in such a platoon.

Do you know more facts, designations or single pictures only about this engines? what for a function for the wooden "Traverse"? The pipe on top looks likefor the propeller.

best regards

Henning

Hi.

That´s a Type 98 6t Prime Mover Ro-Ke. These were used to move light and medium artillery pieces.

Hi Sturm 78,

it is a MAN type S 1 H 6. Here two pics: first out of the book "Taschenbuch Deutscher LKW-Bau" by Wolfgang Gebhardt, second "MAN" by Wolfgang Westerwelle.
Very interesting pic. Thanks for posting.
