Re: Hungarian tanks?
Sorry to revive this old thread but I have a question:
Did the T-38 and other early german/italian tanks in retain their original MG or were they changed to MGs in hungarian standard caliber of 8x56?
I assume in 43 and later they retained the 7.92mm weapons as Hungary got more and more of them from Germany.

Re: Hungarian tanks?
From what I can find in A Magyar Királyi Honvédség fegyverzete by Attila Bonhardt, Gyula Sárhidai and László Winkler the 35 M Ansaldo tankette had two 34/A M - 8 mm machine guns (a Gebauer design AKA 34.AM, 34/37.M, 1934/1937.M etc.) but foreign standard AFVs imported, interned or captured during WW II retained the original secondary armament too.
