Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hi Max, hi Bill,
congratulations to You, Max. You was half an hour faster than me.
Bill, thank You very much for this excellent pic and question. So I could learn again.
But Max, a request to You: You should tell the other people the exact designation of this truck. Thanks.
Regards
Bert

Hello Bert,
I don't know anymore than these were IMAD trucks ca. 1942. Perhaps you can fill in the blanks. Just for fun, here's a pic of the factory when it opened in 1940.

Yes, Bert. In fact I was considering using this pic of a Praga RN as my quiz question (different louvers, same truck):

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
Hi Max:
I was hoping someone else would answer this but it seems perhaps not.
Your vehicle is a Kurogane Type 95 Field/Scout Car of Japanese manufacture.
Both photos are quite unique in that they show the vehicle in the possession of Russian troops and the photos were taken somewhere in the Far East. I am not sure if they were taken before WWII started (Battle of Khalkhin Gol) or at the end of the war when Russia declared war on Japan at the very end of the conflict.
They can be found with both the "sporty" door as in your photo or with a door with the top part being straight across.
Bill

Re: The official AHF Panzers & other vehicles quiz thread
You got it Bill!
Those were prewar photos as you suggested but these scout cars were used throughout WWII as can be seen in this photo of American occupation troops enjoying the straight door model. I found these photos on, of all things, a Russian Off-Road enthusiast site: http://xn--80aaikzuom2jqa.xn--p1ai/inde ... &Itemid=91
Your turn now.

Thank you, Bill.
In case anyone was wondering, the "112" represents the wheelbase (in inches).
Here's your next one:

Interesting that the radiator (grille) is further forward on this one, implies a different mechanical layout?Maxschnauzer wrote:You got it Bill!
