An interesting picture from eBay. A rail mounted 231 with Polizei number plates. It appears to have had the 2cm main armament removed. The vehicle looks as if it is Panzer Grey and sports what I believe are early pattern Balkenkreuz. This clearly shows how such vehicles were used.

No need to be sorry!

I was just trying to raise the question as to whether the original photo is now for sale, or maybe something has been copied and made to look old? I notice that there's a crease on the e-bay example, which doesn't appear on the photo in the book. So either someone's been very carelss with their photos, this is a different original or the third option is it's a fake made to look old with a little bit of distressing.

SdKfz 232 (Fu) from ebay. I think it is during the entering of the Rheinland in 1936.

Whoa!

That last one is really rare, isn't that a long wheelbased Daimler Benz version with a late version turret? It would be interesting to know if that picture was from the Rhineland in 1936, any chance someone could confirm from the roadsign on the left? The paint scheme looks like one single colour to me, I can't see any obvious camo pattern.

The photo has been for sale on Ebay several times, both in "kleine photo format" and in postcard.

Detail of the sign on the left.
