Hi all!
Well, I was away for a while and I've missed this one. Bill was first :( Just kidding, of course.
Probably the original caption of this picture will be interesting for you. It says "A track fitting "how-to" demonstration on a offroad chassis-tractor Chevrolet for the Bulgarian army artillery, made by the Dutch company VanDoorne, Eindhoven and imported by Ilchev Bros, Varna, end of the 20s"
Here is the original pic with plates not obscured:

Manufacturer's plate detail:

More pics of the thing, the first is somewhat dramatic demonstration of its rear bogie articulation :D :

And one on trials:

Sorry if it is off topic here  , I hope it was interesting for you
Cheers!

Totally on topic, my friend and I cannot thank you enough for the additional photos, most valuable

BTW, as the national flag function is not operating just yet, can you type in in your "personal profile" area your country of residence.
It really helps me to know from where people are posting. Not the least, to know what their time zone is :D :D

Done, Bill. I have to admit I'm still a bit confused by the new layout. Talking about time zones, mine is 24/7 :D
Cheers!
P.S. I've just sent you PM

I want still go back back to the first of these Daf/Trado drive system photos.

A stupid question:
What happens next? Does the vehicle just drive off on tracks as far as the tracks allow -run out, or what? :?

With best, J-P :milwink:
Edit: Correcting typo

John, do you not think that they will unroll the tracks and join them so that the truck becomes a half-track ?

Regarding my quiz photo of Monday, it is not a European marque.

Hi Bill,

it could be a truck of the American Federal Motor truck company, but I cannot tell You the exact model or the year of production. Maybe it is the Ten Model from the year 1935 or 1936. And I think it could be a 1 1/2 - tonner.

Best regards

Bert

Very Good Bert!!

1935 Federal beute. I believe the model designation was 15 or 15X as a 1 1/2 tonner.

Over to you.

Hi Bill,

thank You very much. So I will go on with the next question. Please ID this vehicle of the Luftwaffe (source of the pic: an expired ebay auction)!

Bert

Hi,

sorry, it is more difficult than I thought. So here two hints: it´s a vehicle with three axes and it was captured.

Hi Ilfil,

The DAF Trado modification was invented in 1934 by Hub van doorne, director of the DAF Trailerworks and Ir. van der Trappen from the Dutch Army. In 1935 the invention was patented. About 1200 Ford and Chevrolet trucks were converted from 4x2 to the 6x4 by the Trado invention.

Hi Bert:

I am fairly sure your vehicle is a Skoda 903 built on the Skoda Superb 3000 chassis.

Three were built around 1936-1938 and a further 40 or so for the German forces 1941-1943 if I remember correctly.

Here is a factory photo.

Edit: Tried to load the photo 4 times, does not load.
